About Slow down... at Alton Albany Farm B&B

Enjoy good old fashioned hospitality in our Farmhouse, set in 2 acres of Wild Garden with borrowed views of a beautiful, lush green, Scottish valley. A log fire, a comfortable bed and a chance to read that book you've been meaning to. A short walk to the Village Pub for a drink and a meal and to work it off after there's no shortage of scenic trails to walk (or hire a mountain bike). A bit of peace, quiet and healthy exercise might be just what you need. Get away from it all for a weekend, you might even want to stay longer... We now have wifi in every room if you need to stay in touch - and a 40 " television in the lounge for our guests to relax and enjoy a selection of films beside the roaring fire. Alton Albany Farm is a riverside Farmhouse in a picturesque valley a short walk from the pretty conservation village of Barr. The Stinchar River runs along the edge of the grounds and a burn through the orchard. There is unspoilt hill walking and rambling in stunning scenery, mountain biking, cycling, fishing and birdwatching within easy reach. Beaches nearby with views to Ailsa Craig and the Western Isles. The Galloway Forest Park, the first Dark Sky Park in the UK and one of the best places for stargazing in the world is also close by. Easy access from Glasgow and Prestwick Airports and the Stranraer Ferries. Please contact us to help arrange travel as collection can sometimes be arranged. At our Bed & Breakfast families with children and dogs are always welcome. There is even an adjoining riverside field for stick throwing and ballgames. We offer a dining / drawing room with a log fire and plenty of books, card and board games to while away the evenings. Holidays or weekend breaks for families, groups, couples and singles. All welcome! For bookings and any further information please Contact Alasdair or Andrea Currie on 44 (0) 1465 861148 To see reviews from our guests please visit www.tripadvisor.co.uk
